A lot of it is luck. I've always said that getting good shots is 25% knowledge and 75% luck. This is awesome, especially for a first attempt. I got extremely lucky on my first go as well.

Wow, that's some awesome shot you got there!
We had some giant thunderstorm around here last night, and I've been sitting on the balcony, watching the lightnings rush down... it was an amazing atmosphere, and damn, I was soaked in the end, but I didn't care at all. Better than any movie you can watch.
